Dust, pollution, cosmetics and perfumes can dull the brilliance of a gemstone and affect the surface of gold vermeil and sterling silver. We suggest that you take the time to properly store and care for your jewelry, as we are not responsible for the maintenance of your pieces. It should always be removed prior to showering, and put on after perfumes.
Since many genuine gemstones are quite delicate, hot water, harsh chemicals and cleaners should be avoided at all times. Very porous stones such as pearls, opals and emeralds should be cleaned using an untreated, dry, soft cloth.
Proper storage helps to prevent scratching of stones and metal. It is best to keep jewelry away from extreme heat or moisture. Be careful not to place heavy objects on top of your jewelry during storage and to be gentle when putting on or removing your jewelry.
CARING FOR GOLD VERMEIL JEWELRY
Gold vermeil is an overlay of gold over a base of sterling silver and requires special care. Remember to remove before applying perfumes, lotions, or before bathing. Chlorine, especially at high temperatures, can permanently damage or discolour your gold vermeil jewelry. Avoid wearing gold vermeil jewelry while using chlorine bleach or while in a pool or hot tub.
We use 22 karat, 2 micron gold plating, which ages to a 10 karat colour with wear. As rings are worn on the hand, and are exposed to more frequent rubbing, they will often tarnish more quickly than necklaces or earrings. We do not offer re-plating of our gold vermeil designs.
We will repair any piece purchased through our website that has broken as a result of regular wear. Repair fees and wait times may apply (depending on the piece). Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. For items purchased through retail boutiques, please return the damaged item to the store you originally purchased it from.
We accept returns on all items, excluding sale and custom. All returns must be postmarked within fourteen (14) days of your order receipt. Item(s) must be in original condition, showing no signs of damage or use, and all jewelry boxes, bags, and pouches should be returned with the item(s).
Refunds include the price of the item(s) and any applicable tax. Shipping and handling costs are not included in any refund unless the returned item(s) arrived damaged. The customer is also responsible for the cost of return shipments unless the item has arrived damaged.
Return orders will be processed ASAP and, in most cases, all refunds should occur within 48 hours after we have received the item(s). Refunds will be credited back to your original method of payment. If you wish to make an exchange, please email email@example.com as you may have to place a new separate order (unless you are exchanging an item that has been damaged).

Taxes/Duties/Refused Shipments (for International Shipments):
You are responsible for any additional taxes and duties. Zaleska is not responsible for any fees charged by customs. If you decide to refuse any shipments from Zaleska, you are responsible for the original shipping charges to you, any duties, taxes and/or customs charges that are incurred on the package (on both the original and return shipments), and the cost of returning the package. This amount will be subtracted from your refund.
We attempt to ship all orders promptly. In most cases, orders will be processed immediately and will ship out within two 2 to 3 business days, in all cases pending availability and credit verification. Please be patient, as orders don't usually ship out the day they are placed. Please allow additional time for shipments to APO/FPO addresses as well as international orders. We do not provide weekend delivery for any method of shipping. Please note that these processing and shipping provisions are only general guidelines.
